Value For Money Holidays – Turkey.

When looking for value for money holidays. Turkey has been recently highligted as one of the European destination, that fit the bill.  Turkey has always been a popular holiday destination for Brits.  I have friends, work collagues who very visited Turkey for their holidays.  Recently, my niece and newphew, have  visited there several times in the last few years.  This may well indicate that Turkey can be classed as one of the value for money holidays, I’ve been reading about.

Other Value For Money Destinations.

If you’re having trouble choosing between destinations, and not known which one might be classed as one of the value for money holidays.  Why not consider Turkey.  For Brits, Turkey, Greece and Spain are among the cheapest holiday destinations.   Tour Operators are packaging holidays in such a way, that it is driving down the prices and making these three European locations very popular.

Over the next few years, it has been said that Turkey will remain popular to British holiday makers.  As long as it continues to provide the same kinds of value for money holidays, I don’t see why not.

Cocoa Beach Florida.

Strike Action – British Airways.

Once again, British Airways cabin crew have been considering strike action due to working conditions.  The latest threat has been halted due to an agreement between the trade union Unite and management.  A new proposal between the airlines cabin crew, unions and management will be put to ballot next month.

A Pattern of Strike Action.

BA was subjected to strike action by cabin crew last year.  You would have thought they settled all disputes, but apparently not.  It has been said that trade union Unite, will recommend its members to accept the new deal.  That I think remains to be seen.

British Airways management are happy about the proposals, and to have reached an agreement.  Which they think will consider the rights and conditions of the cabin crew workers, and will provide better services for it’s passengers.

If you have flights booked with BA, you’ll be happy to learn that there will be no immediate disruptions.  I hope the latest agreements between the unions, cabin crew and management is accepted and stays firm.  If not, and strike action takes place.  Keep up to date with the latest information to avoid disruption to your booking.

100th Anniversary Celebration.

The 16th July 2011 is the 100th anniversary Celebration Of Canada’s Parks Day.  Parks Canada is one of the world’s oldest national park service.  Over the next few months, their will be a number or events to celebrate the anniversary.  Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver will have a selection of Canadian artists performing at free concerts.  These are just a few events that have been layed on for the 100th Anniversary Celebration.  I haven’t been to Montreal or Vancouver, but Toronto is lovely.  I had a great time and went to Niagra Falls.

Visitors can enjoy many of the Country’s natural parks and learn about the Country’s history at sites.  The Parks Canada organisaiton is responsible for 4 marine conservations, over 40 national parks and more than 160 historic sites.  Parks Canada will be leading the way through the 100th anniversary celebrations in style.

More Than One Celebration.

This is a big year for Canada regarding landmark dates.  In addition to the 100th anniversary celebration of their Parks.  On the 1st July 2011 also marks Canada’s 144th Birthday.  See my earlier post for celebrations and events in London.

Cannes Film Festival.

This year marks the 64th Cannes Film Festival celebration.  Air France is celebrating the festival’ss 64th year, by encouraging its passengers to take part in their in-flight movies competition, on their long-haul flights.  On their facebook page, Air France have invited people to choose their favourite from a list of around twenty International and French movies from the last decade.

This sounds like fun, and I have a feeling that a lot of people will join in the fun.    In-Flight movies are generally okay, but if you are a true movie buff.  Chances are you may have already seen the selected movie choice.  However, if you are going to fly with Air France this Summer.  You will at least have an idea of what in-flight movies will be showing.  If you don’t like the choice,  simply take your own.

Ladies Day.

Four female directors have film entries into the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival this year.  They are Julia Leigh, Lynne  Ramsay, Maïwenn Le Besco and Naomi Kawase.  World famous for attendance from the lastest Hollywood stars and Internation Film Makers around the Globe.

Actor Robert De Niro will served as the president of the jury for the main competition.   An 11 day event, there is still time to get to the event.  If you are based in Europe, the Cannes Film Festival is only 2 or 3 hours away at best.  You can make the last week or last few days.

The Cannes Film Festival takes place from 11th May 2011 to 22 May 2011.

Spring City Break.

Do you prefer several short trips away from home, instead of a two week holiday?  If so, maybe a Spring City Break would suit you better.  You don’t have to fly, you can drive or take a relaxing train ride into another city.  Going away on a short trip or extended weekend, is a good way to shake off the usual day to day grind.  It doesn’t always have to be in a different Country either.  Just enjoying different surroundings in new locations is often enough to unwind, relax and enjoy.  This is where a Spring City break could come in very handy.

Taking A Break In A Nearby City.

If you live in a busy city like London, New York, Rome etc.  A short journey to a completely different city with new things to see or just to relax could do wonders for you.  Many people enjoy their ideal city break in another city, in the same Country.  A Hotel break, with spa treatments, good food, new surroundings and nothing to do except relax and enjoy yourself, would be a very effective Spring city break.  The advantage of this type of city break is that, it can be very affordable, and just as enjoyable as flying off to another city in a different Country.

There are a nunber of choices, including remaining in the same city in the same Country.  You could choose a city a couple of hours away from home.  Perhaps a city you have always wanted to visit.  This could be the perfect time to take a Spring city break.  Ultimately, it would depend on the time you have available and your budget.

Whether you want a quiet mountain retreat or a sunny destination.  It doesn’t really matter where you go, as long as you go, and enjoy yourself.  The most important aspect of any break (city or otherwise).  Is to shake off the grind.  Relax, enjoy yourself, re-charge your batteries and feel revitalized.  You can visit our special offers page for some suggestions on different locations.

Honeymoon Bliss.

Is honeymoon bliss on the cards for the most talked about honeymoon this past week, (or should I say decade).  Is the “not yet honeymoon” of the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge, (William & Katherine).  I’m sure that when the Royal couple do decide to take their honeymoon, it will be very blissful for them.

Don’t know if this, “we’ll wait a while” trend will on.   Just remember that The Royal couple are privvy to options the rest of  us mare mortals are not.  Busy as they may be, they live the kind of lifestyle where everyday could be a honeymoon for them.  Most of us have to hard graft it for less pay than we’re worth.  Now you don’t have to take my advice, but I say take your honeymoon bliss as soon after your Wedding Day as you can, like the next day.

I don’t know about you, but my honeymoon would be the first “married couple exciting adverture”.   Something to  look forward to in my new married life.  Call me a traditionalist, old fashioned or whatever you want.  I’d take my Honeymood Bliss the day after the Wedding, and two or three weeks of it, thanks very much!

To all couples about to be married.  I Hope you get to take your honeymoon very soon after your wedding.  Enjoy your honeymoon bliss at any one of the many honeymoon destinations around the World.
