Strike Action.
Strike Action – British Airways.
Once again, British Airways cabin crew have been considering strike action due to working conditions. The latest threat has been halted due to an agreement between the trade union Unite and management. A new proposal between the airlines cabin crew, unions and management will be put to ballot next month.
A Pattern of Strike Action.
BA was subjected to strike action by cabin crew last year. You would have thought they settled all disputes, but apparently not. It has been said that trade union Unite, will recommend its members to accept the new deal. That I think remains to be seen.
British Airways management are happy about the proposals, and to have reached an agreement. Which they think will consider the rights and conditions of the cabin crew workers, and will provide better services for it’s passengers.
If you have flights booked with BA, you’ll be happy to learn that there will be no immediate disruptions. I hope the latest agreements between the unions, cabin crew and management is accepted and stays firm. If not, and strike action takes place. Keep up to date with the latest information to avoid disruption to your booking.

A Caribbean Island.
A Caribbean Island.
Aruba is a Caribbean Island situated in the southern Caribbean Sea. It is probably not as well known as other Caribbean Islands such as Antigua or Jamacia. However, as we move forward into the new year. Figures are being released about the number of visitors to many different Worldwide destinations. Today we focus on UK travellers and the Caribbean Island of Aruba.
Aruba is a small Caribbean Island, with a population of around 100,000 people. Yet it welcomed more than 14,000 UK visitors last year. This was an increase of around 26%. The picture of white sandy beaches, blue-green sea and hot sun. Easily comes to mind when you think about the caribbean. There is no doubt that Aruba fits nicely into that scene.

New York.
New York – Snow.
If you were thinking the recent bad weather we had here in London was ciaotic. Think again. New York is experiencing a huge blizzard that has effected travel beyond normal disruption levels. It is so bad that it has even affected the Maritime provinces of Canada.
The city of New York has knee deep snow. All major Airports shut down with thousands of canceled flights in the last week. This current blizzard is so bad it has been named the “snowpocalypse”. I thought ankle deep snow falls in London was bad, but New York has us beat by about 10 inches.
Airports.
There are three major Airports in the New York area that provide travel to numerous destinations around the World. JFK International, LaGuardia and Newark International (New Jersey). Limited services are available but still, it is going to take a major thaw and snow clearance to get anywhere near normal.
Emergency Services Issues.
A major problem of the city, is that many of the emergency services vehicles are also stuck in the (all to gether now), Snow. Ambulances, Buses, Fire Engines as well as cars. The salt spreaders and snow plows can’t get to work until the vehicles are pulled out of the way.
Hold tight New Yorkers, stay inside and stay safe! Snow, you gotta love it – as long as you’re not in it.
As always, check with your airline if you are due to travel to or from New York. Check for flight cancellations

Long Haul Flight.
Long Haul Flight.
If you like far away destinations and the promise of warm climates. Then you might like a long haul flight, that will take you away to such a place. Below is a list of the top five destinations you could travel to, on a long haul flight. The list was based on a survey with the main holiday cost of, hotels, meals, drinks and overall value for money taken into account.
In case you are wondering what constitutes a long haul flight. That would usually be flights that have a non-stop flying time of 5 hours or more. From London to the Caribbean would be around 7:45 hrs, but from London to Thailand would be between 11:00hrs – 12:00hrs.
Top Five Value For Money Destinations.
1. Sri Lanka
2. Mexico
3. Kenya
4. Malaysia
5. Indonesia
It’s worth mentioning that the report did advise travellers not to forget Thailand, who slipped down to sixth place this year. It still has great value for money and cheap tourist rates. For information on even more holiday destinations – See Here.
There are a few important things you should bear in mind when taking a long haul flight. It is important for you to stretch your legs and keep the circulation going throughout the body. I’m no expert, andthis is advice from the medical professional and many airline carriers.
In the past their have been a few cases of deep vein thrombosis, (DVT), developing in passengers. DVT is blood clot developing deep in a vein. It can travel to the lungs and cause seriously illness or worse death. The message here is just make sure that you move around adequately when you’re on a long haul flight and there should be NO problems.
I’m told that some airlines even run mini excerise classes for their passengers. It’s fun and of course the movement is limited because of space, but it achieves the objective; keeping the body’s blood circulating.

BA Strike Action.
BA Strike Action.
Keeping you up to date with the latest on the BA Strike Action. It seems the possibility of strike action by BA cabin crew still looms. The Court of appeal has ruled that strike action can continued as planned, as it overruled an injuction made by the high court.
Many travellers will be very nervous about their flights booked through BA over the next few weeks. BA has maintained that flights from Gatwick Airport and London City Airport will operate a full service.
The BA Strike Action will affect flights from Heathrow and other airports, which should operate services at around 50-60%. My advice, call before you travel and make sure your flight is not affected.
Good Luck!
